Travel Skin Tips!

Glow On The Go.

Have you ever noticed how your skin can act up most when you travel? Pesky breakouts, dry patches, dehydration and dullness seem to always rain on your parade just when you're supposed to be living your best vacation life. Unpredictable skincare woes can sabotage your fun so we’re giving you a few tips and tricks to help keep your radiant skin glowing before you hit the road.

Stay consistent. Skipping your skincare routine or switching to different products can disrupt your skin's balance and leave you struggling with unwanted blemishes — especially if they contain ingredients like sulfates, parabens and phthalates. Taking your skin routine on the road with you will ensure consistency and confidence.

Extra tip: Environmental shifts can alter your skin’s appearance and even cause allergic reactions. When you visit an unfamiliar place and are sensitive to environmental influences like plants, weather, etc., it can reflect in your skin. Keep this in mind by also bringing anything soothing or calming that already works for your skin.

Plan ahead. Shop for minis before you pack. According to TSA, all your liquids and moisturizers need to be under 3.4 oz or 100 millimeters to make them airport friendly. Stock up on your favorite Raw Sugar minis here and take our fan favorite scents and formulas with you so that you don't have to use the stuff at your hotel or airbnb that can potentially dry out your skin. That way there are no surprises when your destination doesn’t have any lotion or soaps for your sensitive skin or a good conditioner for your hair. Nobody wants vacay pics with frizzy hair and dry skin.

Traveling, especially by air, can be exceptionally dehydrating due to the dry cabin environment, harsh soaps in the bathrooms and excessive use of sanitizer. Combat this by packing our Green Tea Trio Gentle Glow set that comes with a Body Wash, Hand Wash and Body Butter infused with powerful hydrating Cold Press oils and calming good for you ingredients to help soothe dry skin while you travel. Make sure to pack these in an outside pocket of your carry on so you have easy access to them while on the plane. And don't forget a Lip Balm! Lips are especially prone to dry air and can get chapped while flying.

Most importantly, Hydrate from the inside out and get enough sleep. Make sure you’re keeping track of your water intake and upping your consumption, especially when you fly. We tend to forget the basics when we’re in vacay mode and may add other sugary or alcoholic drinks we don’t normally consume at home. That alone can show up in the form of dull skin with fine lines. Bring your own refillable water bottle (many airports have refill stations now and the airplane waters are too small), and add an electrolyte mix to your water for an extra boost and make sure you don’t skimp on your sleep!

Prioritize cleanliness. Hygiene is essential! When indulging in a nomadic adventure, be mindful of the cleanliness of your surroundings. Even the cleanest hotel rooms can hide invisible germs so in addition to your travel minis, carry sanitizing wipes with you to wipe down surfaces and keep your hands free from unwanted bacteria that can lead to skin breakouts or even illness.

Navigating the world of skincare while traveling doesn't have to be a challenge. By prioritizing your clean skincare routine, staying cosistent, opting for travel-sized products like your favorites from Raw Sugar, and following these essential travel tips, you can ensure your skin remains nourished, protected, and radiant throughout your vacation. So, pack your bags, embrace adventure, and let your glowing skin steal the spotlight wherever you go!
