Leaving filled-in brows in 2017

Filled-in brows can be great, and if you don’t want to retire your brow pencil just yet – more power to you. But the problem with overfilling our brows is that we can lose a little bit of our identity – the beautiful uniqueness and individual shape of our brows gets covered up and hidden. But it’s time to show off the raw beauty of your brows with pride. So instead of covering them up with a thick pencil, 2018 is all about highlighting their natural shape and neatening them up with a nice brow gel or brush. Give it a try – we know we will be.

Beauty from the inside out

The more time that goes on, the more we learn about the power of what we eat and drink. Beauty begins from the inside, and there’s nothing better for your skin and hair than drinking lots of water and eating lots of good fats. Think: salmon, avocado, and nuts – and at least 8 glasses of water per day.

Hey, and eating right can even help protect you from the sun! You’ll still need your sunscreen, though (sorry).

How to achieve the ultimate ‘no make up’ look

No makeup is the new makeup. But for those of us not quite brave enough to go bare-faced, there are a few little makeup tricks that can make us look as natural as possible. It’s all about a balance. So for every illuminating product you use, dab on a little matte product to even it out. For example, if you’re wearing glowy bronzer, try a matte foundation or BB cream to match it. It’s also about using minimal products to bring out your best features. A touch of mascara on the outer corner of your eyes. A dab of lip stain. A sweep of blush over the cheekbones for a natural flush.

Hydration and health

Here’s one that never goes out of style: moisture. With winter in full swing, we think your skin (and hair) might need a drink. Hydrated skin is healthy skin, and a complexion whose thirst is regularly quenched is generally more plump, resilient and stronger at fighting off any bad guys floating around in the air. A good, vitamin-rich moisturizer is a must. And when it comes to your locks, a nutrient-heavy hair masque will help your hair get through tough winter days (Hint: Raw Sugar’s NEW hair masque nurtures and rehydrates hair like none other!).

Perk up your foundation with moisturizer

While the purpose of foundation exist to conceal imperfections and even out skin tone, mixing moisturizer into it adds another dimension and can dramatically improve the look of both your makeup and your skin. Adding a squeeze of moisturizer to your daily foundation routine will help to sheer it out, resulting in a more natural, dewy, glowy finish (and who doesn’t love that?). This little trick changes the texture of your foundation – and enhances it with the vitamins and nutrients of your facial moisturizer. Your skin will thank you for the change.
