All Raw Sugar products are formulated without SLS/SLES, parabens or phthalates.  We are mindful of harmful chemicals and formulate with clean, good-for-you ingredients that won’t harm or strip the skin or hair of its natural goodness.  Our products are dermatologist-tested and compliant with retailer clean standards.

Raw Sugar hair products do not contain any ingredients specifically targeted to treat dandruff.  Though we have gentle, non-medicated products to help hydrate and refresh the scalp such as The Scalp Restore line, we recommend using a medicated shampoo or consulting your physician if you have persistent dandruff. 

Since Raw Sugar hair products are formulated without harsh surfactants like SLS and SLES that can strip color and moisture from the hair, they are considered gentle on color-treated hair.

A clarifying shampoo is a deep-cleansing product intended for use once a week to help remove oils and other residues from your scalp that may be dulling and weighing your hair down. Our clarifying shampoo, The Deep Cleanse, contains chelating agents to help capture and remove mineral deposits, as well as charcoal powder to help purify and antioxidant-rich extracts like matcha and aloe to hydrate and soothe, helping to restore hair to a weightless, healthy-looking state. 

It is generally not recommended to leave a regular rinse-out conditioner in your hair, as it’s richer and can lead to a heavy, greasy feeling with buildup.  A leave-in conditioner is specifically formulated to be lighter and create an invisible film for moisture- without weighing hair down. If you have fine, straight hair, we recommend reaching for The Multi Miracle Leave-In Conditioner & Heat Protectant, or if you have thick, curly hair, The Mighty Cream Leave-In Conditioner.
