5 Ways to Enjoy ‘Me Time’ Without the Distractions

Posted By Cherry Thongthavikiat on April 20, 2018

‘Me time’ is essential at keeping life balanced and vital to our wellbeing. Discover how to make more ‘me time’ below.

1. Alarm Clock

Not only does waking up early improve your productivity, sleep and mental health, there are less distractions in the early hours of the day. This is the perfect time to grab a cup of coffee/ tea, watch your favorite morning show and let yourself settle into your own energy for that much needed ‘me time’ before the rest of the family wakes up. Ah, sounds perfect to us! Try it, you’ll love it!

2. Go Outdoors

Escape and go outside for a 15- 20 min walk every day. Go during your lunch break at work, in the morning, or when the kids are down for the evening. There is no greater feeling than feeling energized, positive and motivated! Walking will do just that and more – finding the time to do this for yourself will give that perfect balance of alone time your soul is craving.

3. Pamper time!

Treating yourself is healthy not frivolous. Do it in the comfort of your own home or just make your way to a nail salon. Either way, pamper yourself AT LEAST once every two weeks. The trick is to actually block that time out for yourself and stick to it. Pampering yourself brings so many physical and mental benefits like increased happiness, less stress and an improved appearance. Get your diary out and book that me time in, to give yourself the #Rawlovin you deserve.

4. Journaling Time!

There’s a strong connecting between happiness and mindfulness. Journaling brings you into that state of mindfulness. Doing this will help past frustrations and future anxieties lose their edge in the present moment. Spending time alone to journal is another great way to connect with your true self and reduce the stress in your life.

5. Disconnect to Reconnect

Alone at last! Alone in your thoughts with no distractions. Did you know that reading a book expands your vocabulary, reduces your stress and improves your memory? A great way to enjoy ‘me time’ is to actually read a book and get so lost in it, that you have no other thoughts! Set a time aside everyday, even it’s only 30 mins, and read! Turn off your social medias and all technology around you to really switch off!
