7 Things You Can do this Summer to Become a More Healthier, Happier Version of You

Posted By Raw Sugar on June 29, 2018

You may have done your yearly spring clean, but have you thought about doing a yearly ME cleanse? With the days getting warmer and longer there’s never been a better time to slow it down, and take some time for some self care.

1. Buy Socially & Environmentally Conscious Products

Something we can all easily change in our everyday lives is looking into the products we purchase on a daily basis. Are you using products that could be more green for the environment? Do they support a social cause? Take a leaf out of Raw Sugar’s page – our packaging is made from 25% post consumer recycled plastic and our bamboo caps are also sustainable. Don’t forget, for every product purchased, we also donate a bar of soap to a family in need.

2. Get Outdoors

Step outside of your daily routine and take a moment to pause, and appreciate mother nature. It’ll help you clear your head, which helps you to relax and enjoy the moment. Whether it’s the exposure to Vitamin D, the calm of the outdoors, or the sound of waves crashing on the shore, researchers agree that even something as simple as taking a walk in nature can significantly reduce stress.

3. Exercise

Everyone knows that regular exercise is good for the body and important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Exercise is also one of the most effective ways to improve your mental health. From getting the heart pumping to releasing feel-good endorphins in the body, exercise is a great way to lift spirits and get happy. Exercising on a regular basis also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts your overall mood.

4. Ditch The Digital

Birds are chirping, waves are crashing and summer is calling! There’s never been a better time to ditch the digital and head outdoors and enjoy the beauty of mother nature! Calm the mind and try doing activities that reduces screen time. Avoid ending the night with news feed scrolling and opt for a late night walk or a yoga session instead. It will do wonders for your overthinking brain, and will result in a more relaxed atmosphere.

5. Grab A Good Read

Stimulate your mind and go back to basics. Switch off and immerse yourself in the wonderful worlds of endless possibilities. Reading will help you take time for yourself, and help you enjoy life’s basic pleasures. There’s no better feeling than grabbing some tea and finding your peace in your favorite story!

6. Go For A Swim

Whether it’s in the ocean, lake or a pool, wherever you choose to go for a swim, just know that it is an amazing remedy for calming the mind, body and soul. Not only is the imagery calming, but should you choose to go in for a dip, you’ll also benefit from the amazing work out!

7. Eat Clean

Give your body a break and look to foods that aren’t overly processed. Research has proven that our bodies function better when given simple fats and sugars. This is because our bodies are able to break them down easier. Look to nature’s fruits for a better alternative. It’s summer, so fruits and vegetables are fresh and available for the taking!
